Inclusion Team Escalation Protocol
Inclusion Team Escalation Protocol
The Inclusion Team is committed to working collaboratively with schools and settings to resolve concerns as quickly and effectively as possible. We encourage concerns to be raised at the earliest opportunity, allowing us to work together to identify solutions and maintain positive working relationships.
Escalation Process steps
Step 1: Discussion with your linked Specialist teacher
Your first point of contact should be your linked Inclusion Specialist Teacher or Sensory Specialist Teacher. In most cases, concerns can be resolved through discussion and collaborative problem-solving with the practitioner supporting your setting.
To find your linked Inclusion Specialist Teacher or Sensory Specialist Teacher, please contact EHCenquiries@buckinghamshire.gov.uk.
Step 2: Escalation to a Senior Specialist Teacher
If your concern has not been resolved to your satisfaction within 5 working days, you may escalate the matter to a Senior Specialist Teacher. We are committed to addressing concerns promptly and working collaboratively to achieve a positive resolution.
Details of the appropriate Senior Specialist Teacher for the relevant team can be found on the How to contact the Specialist Teacher teams page.
Step 3: Escalation to the SEND Inclusion Strategic Leader
If your concern remains unresolved after a further 5 working days, or you feel that it has not been addressed satisfactorily through the previous stage, you may escalate the matter to the SEND Inclusion Strategic Leader.

Step 4: Escalation to the Head of Service
If your concern remains unresolved following the previous stages, you may escalate the matter to the Head of Service.
Caroline Marriott, Head of Service

Please note that where the escalation process has not been followed, concerns may be redirected to the team member best placed to address the issue in the first instance.
Buckinghamshire Council Complaints Policy
We always endeavour to work with you to resolve concerns informally and promote collaborative solutions through a joined-up approach.
However, if you wish to make a formal complaint, you can do so by following the Buckinghamshire Council Complaints procedure.
