Background to the i-Thrive audit tool

This tool was developed after school representatives at Buckinghamshire’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing multi-agency group requested a framework/tool for Senior Mental Health Leads (SMHLs) to map their emotional wellbeing provision against. The idea is that the tool can support SMHLs to ensure they are meeting a range of wellbeing needs amongst their pupils, as well as continuing to improve their whole school approach.

A group which included CAMHs, Education, Public Health, School Nursing and Bucks Mind have developed the reflective audit tool based on the i-Thrive model below.

What happens after the tool has been completed?

Once you have completed the tool, you may want to share your results with your Senior Leadership Team or Governor’s Board, identifying the actions you are going to take forward and when you would like them to be implemented.

In the Spring Term of 2025, Senior Mental Health Leads will have the opportunity to attend an in-person event in Buckinghamshire to share their experiences of using the tool with other Senior Mental Health Leads and share good practices. This will be facilitated by CAMHs, Education, Public Health and School Nursing. Invitations to this event will be sent towards the end of Winter Term 2024.
