Objectives

At the end of the course students will:

understand the dangers of fire
understand current fire safety legislation
understand fire hazards in buildings
be able to carry out a Fire Safety risk assessment

Content covered:

management responsibility for fire prevention
regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005
fire safety training for employees
fire safety risk assessment (please bring along your current professional fire risk assessment)
formulating fire policies
damage control planning

Suitable for – this course is a requirement for Headteachers, Managers or Health and Safety Co-ordinators who are either the ‘Responsible Person’ under fire legislation or have been given the responsibility for fire safety for their premises.

Refresher training required - yes, every three years
