Risk Assessments

Risk Assessments

Risk assessment is the basis for successful health and safety management, and the key to reducing work-related accidents and occupational diseases.

If it is implemented well, it can improve workplace safety, health, and business performance.

A Guide to Risk Assessments

Risk assessment is a legal requirement for all employers and the cornerstone of good health and safety management. There is a danger that where the requirements are misunderstood, too little or far too much work can be put into the risk assessment process, and those involved can lose sight of the purpose.

For this reason, we've devised a simple and easy approach to risk assessment, which all BC managers/services/establishments should follow. Visit 2.1 Risk Assessment Policy (Solution)

Model Risk Assessment Forms

A number of generic risk assessments have been produced which can be amended to suit local circumstances. If you have any other examples of risk assessments which could be of use to others please send them to the Health and Safety Team who will, if appropriate add them to this site.
