Internet Safety Ambassadors and workshops

Ambassadors are a great way to embed Internet safety into your school. The training takes a whole day and the cost per child is £15.

Students will get a workbook, a certificate and enamel badge on completion.

During the course we discuss their online behaviour including the opportunities and the risks of being online, wellbeing, where to find help and how they can help their school.

Workshops for all ages and parents are also a great way to start conversations around internet use. Topics can include:

  • Bullying
  • Self-Image
  • Digital footprint
  • Images
  • Chatting
  • Live Streaming
  • Critical Thinking
  • Gaming
  • Location
  • Terms and Conditions

Internet Safety Game Launch

We have now launched our online safety game ‘Bao – It’s a Jungle out There’.

Developed with Special Schools and our EU partners, it can be played either in a class setting or at home (and encouraging parents to play along). The links to the game along with the guidance document, including lesson plans and conversation starters are here.

Feedback so far has been really positive:

"This is absolutely brilliant. I will definitely be using this. I pressed the link and just kept going. I have not looked at the lesson plans but it is a really rich resource which I think will be a really effective way of building resilience on line and helping to navigate the dangers.”

“I love it!! I have just had a go, I think kids will love it”

New CEOP Resources

The Dark Web Explained

Created by the National Crime Agency in collaboration with the Children's Society and the Marie Collins Foundation,
contains a short informational film and accompanying factsheets for professionals, parents and carers.
This resource has been developed in response to recommendations from professionals and from research which found that many professionals
and parents and carers do not understand the Dark Web and feel unequipped to talk to a young person about it should the need arise.
It aims to support professionals, parents and carers to understand the Dark Web, young people's use of it and how to discuss issues around it with young people who are using it.

Marie Collins Foundation: guide for Ukrainian parents

If you are working with Ukrainian parents displaced by the ongoing conflict, Marie Collins Foundation's new guide supports Ukrainian parents to talk to their children about online harms.

Other CEOP Resources

The following articles are available to help parents and carers keep their children safer online:

  1. A parent's guide to privacy settings
  2. Gaming: what parents and carers need to know
  3. What is the Internet of Things (IoT)?

CEOP have released a resource around online Blackmail for 15 - 18 year olds - see the resource page for more information.

The Be Internet Legends hub has evolved to support schools, pupils and families through new challenges and deliver content remotely.  You can register interest in their LIVE online assemblies, parent sessions and assembly video by visiting parent zone

Critical Thinking Resources

Having more time on the internet means children and young people may come across fake news and conspiracy theories so giving them the skills to navigate these along with counter narratives is vital.

We have a number of presentations and lesson plans to help deliver these messages in PHSE / ICT classes, which can be tailored to your group - ask us for details.

Check out the Resources Page

The Resource page has lots of templates and resources that you can use in school including a new toolkit on Gaming and Gambling from ParentZone.

The Gaming or Gambling resource pack includes:

  • Two short films
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Top Tips
  • Glossary of key phrases
  • Quiz
  • Lesson plan and teacher notes

Our resource library is too large to post here so if you have any specific requirements for resources then please contact us.
