Internet safety continues to be a popular topic for schools to address, particularly as children and young people are spending more time online than ever before. On these pages you will find various workshops and resources to help you in your setting.

Internet Safety Information for Ukrainian Families
CEOP (Child Exploitation Online Prevention Agency) have been producing resources on staying safe inline for Ukrainian parents:
Internet Safety Ambassadors and workshops
Ambassadors are a great way to embed Internet safety into your school. The training takes a whole day and the cost per child is £15.
Students will get a workbook, a certificate and enamel badge on completion.
During the course we discuss their online behaviour including the opportunities and the risks of being online, wellbeing, where to find help and how they can help their school.
Workshops for all ages and parents are also a great way to start conversations around internet use. Topics can include:

Internet Safety Day
Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. UK Safer Internet Centre have created a range of resources for all ages. To find out more and get involved visit saferinternetday.org.uk
Internet Safety Game Launch
We have now launched our online safety game ‘Bao – It’s a Jungle out There’.
Developed with Special Schools and our EU partners, it can be played either in a class setting or at home (and encouraging parents to play along). The links to the game along with the guidance document, including lesson plans and conversation starters are here.
Feedback so far has been really positive:

New CEOP Resources
The Dark Web Explained
Created by the National Crime Agency in collaboration with the Children's Society and the Marie Collins Foundation,
contains a short informational film and accompanying factsheets for professionals, parents and carers.
This resource has been developed in response to recommendations from professionals and from research which found that many professionals
and parents and carers do not understand the Dark Web and feel unequipped to talk to a young person about it should the need arise.
It aims to support professionals, parents and carers to understand the Dark Web, young people's use of it and how to discuss issues around it with young people who are using it.
Marie Collins Foundation: guide for Ukrainian parents
If you are working with Ukrainian parents displaced by the ongoing conflict, Marie Collins Foundation's new guide supports Ukrainian parents to talk to their children about online harms.

Critical Thinking Resources
Having more time on the internet means children and young people may come across fake news and conspiracy theories so giving them the skills to navigate these along with counter narratives is vital.
We have a number of presentations and lesson plans to help deliver these messages in PHSE / ICT classes, which can be tailored to your group - ask us for details.
