Getting the most out of the classroom

Buckinghamshire Shout Out Reps represent children and young people with educational needs and disabilities in Buckinghamshire in order to improve services and support for them.

It is important that children and young people are actively engaged in understanding their needs and in planning, implementation and review of the support they receive.

The Shout Out Reps created this video to tell us what helps them get the most out of the classroom and learn to the best of their ability, highlighting the valuable and creative contributions they have to make to achieve the best outcomes possible.

Please take the time to hear their views and consider how you might be able to use them and how you might actively involve children in planning their support in your setting.

Getting young people involved

Help us get more voices heard by encouraging children and young people to get involved in our local projects for young people with SEND.

This includes our Shout Out Reps who speak for their school, college, friends and community.

Any ideas our Shout Out Reps have for improving local SEND services are fully considered by the people who make decisions at the council. The council is committed to responding to contributions made by children and young people and involving them in reviewing changes made.
